    LIN XIANG XIONG

    1945:
    Born in Chao’an County, Shantou City, Guangdong Province, and China.

    1956:
    Reunited with father and educated in Malaya.

    1965-68:
    Studied find arts in Singapore Academy of Arts.

    1971-73:
    Studied Fine Arts in Paris, France.

    1974-83:
    Spent many years in Europe, undertaking creative works of arts and economic investments.

    1983 to present:
    Spend most of time, commuting between Singapore, China, ASEAN and many other countries in the world, undertaking creative works of arts and business ventures.

     

    Current Positions

    Founder and President of Innovation (China) Limited, Innovation Worldwide Group Pte Ltd and Innovation Fund Limited.

    Founder and Chairman of CNMC GOLDMINE HOLDINGS LIMITED(First gold mining company listed on Catalist of the SGX-ST under the new MOG rules.)

    Founder and President of Global Chinese Arts & Culture Society.

    Research fellow of Chinese National Academy of Arts.

    Visiting Professor of Beijing Language and Culture University.

    Research Professor of Institute of Eastern Studies, Peking University;

    Guest Professor of School of Arts, Peking University.

     

    Fine Arts Activities

    Hold seven(7) solo exihibtions in Singapore and Thailand. In 1990,1994 and 2013, invited by the Ministry of Culture of China to hold solo arts exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Taiyuan, etc. Participated in large-scale artistic activities at national level in China for many times and was awarded during 1994-2008. In 1999, sponsored and invited a during 1968-1988 Chinese delegation of arts critics to participate in “Nanyang (Southeast Asia) Arts Forum”. He was invited to attend “Henry Moore Sculpture Exhibition” jointly held by the Ministry of Culture of China and that of Britain, and served as the chairman of International Group of the International Symposium in 2000. Was also invited to attend “Biannual International Fine Arts Exhibition of Beijing, China” and presented a paper in Sep 2003. Held an arts exhibition on the theme “Fusion of East & West” at “Deke Erh Art Center” in Shanghai in June 2005. In 2014 , he was appionted as the “International Curator of the 6th Beijing International Art Biennale, China”.In June 2014, was invited to hold a solo exhibition by Peking University and presented a painting “Autumn Walk” which is displaying at Peking University Hall permanently.

     

    City Planning

    In 2003, he was nominated jointly by Japan, China and Singapore as Director & Chief Advisor for the Civilization and Arts for Architectural Planning Design for 2008 Olympics village. The architectural planning design had been awarded Three(3) top prizes & recommended by the International Olympics Committee. In 2005, he was nominated by the Government of Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China as Director General and Executive Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee for the “Year of Sculptural Arts of Zhengzhou International City”, overall in charge of planning and preparation for the event. In 2003 and 2004, he was in charge of large-scale architectural planning design projects in Beijing and Henan, China.

    Artistic And Cultural Forum

    Architectural Art

    In 2004, he was appointed by Chinese National Academy of Arts as research fellow and the consultant of Architectural Arts Research Department. In April 2004, he was invited to participate in the “Forum on the Development of Chinese Architectural Arts and Culture” and had presented a paper entitled “Civilization Inherited and Inherited Civilization”. Same year in August, he was invited to participate in a “Seminar on the protection and development of Asian National Architecture” and had presented a paper entitled “Nature, Environment and Society”. In September, he was invited to participate in the “Exhibition of International Habitat Architectural Arts and Habitat Architectural Arts Forum” of the “First Biannual Chinese International Architectural Arts” and had delivered a speech.

     

    Chinese Culture

    Has been participating, since the beginning of the century, the “International Symposium of the World Forum on Chinese Culture in the 21st Century” initiated by Assoication for Yan Huang Culture of China, which aims at globalizing Yam Huang culture and help facilitate contacts and exchanges.

    A ten-year ( 2010 to 2018) plan is in store to undertake the arduous task of planning, organizing and financing to help pushing the soft power of Yan Huang culture into the international scene.

    Two forums had been held in Singapore, representing Asia; and Melbourne, Australia, representing Oceania, in 2010 and 2012 respectively. The Forum will be held in Europe, 2014; North America, 2016; and Africa , 2018. All the Five Continents will be covered by the “21st Century Long March of Human Culture” through the march of the Hua Xia Civilization towards global arena.

     

    Cultural and Artistic Publications

    Painting Collection

    He had published 4 painting collections from 1980 to 1994.

    In 2013, make preparation for publishing 4 hardcover painting collections: “Exploration between Heaven and Earth”, “Exploration in Southeast Asia”, “A Sad World” and “Great Form Has No Shape”.

    Books

    During 1976-2012, published 8 books of essays, art reviews and theories, which have been collected into the “Collection of Xiangxiong’s Works” with five volumes in 2013.

    From 1990 to 1994, he had published “Biography of Lin Xiangxiong” in literary forms of poem, prose and novel and TV art documentary in China.

    Four books, covering Lin Xiang Xiong’s critics on arts, culture and newspaper interviews, were published in 2013, entitled respectively, <On Paintings of Nanyang>, <Echo from China>, <Son of the Nation> and < The Way To Go >. Five other books , namely < Random Notes on Creation>, < Collision of Art and Literature>, <Searching in Space>, < Rallying Cry of the Soul> and < Reflections on Civilization > were also published in the same year, collectively under the title of < Collection of Xiang Xiong’s Works>.
